Chichester Boat Show

I went to Chichester Boat Show with Woggers and Sven today. I was expecting it to take place in a really large hall or exhibition centre, with some small boats on trailers or something. As it turns out it was held at the marina, with large boats tied-up to the pontoons. You could go onboard for a good look around (providing you left your shoes on the pontoon) – so we did, using the cover story that we were thinking of going in together to buy a yacht. Unfortunately, one of us (who shall remain nameless) blew the cover story by having holes in his socks, thus destroying the illusion that we had any money at all!

They had both yachts and cabin cruisers on display; Sven prefers the former, while I’d want the latter. Actually going anywhere under sail seems too much of a faff to me. I do hope to own my own boat one day, but in the mean time I contented myself with sitting in the captain’s chair of a £850k cabin cruiser. A bit out of my price range I’m afraid, but I can always dream. :)

In an unrelated story, I got home to find six fox cubs playing in the garden. We’ve had a fox burrow (possibly not the correct term) at the bottom of our garden for as long as I can remember, and every year or so a family of foxes will move in and we’ll see some cubs in the spring. Don’t think we’ve every seen six before though. I managed to take a quick photo of four of them, but it’s not very clear I’m afraid, so I drew a circle around them. If I get a better picture at a later date, I’ll be sure to add it.

I’d just like to point out it was sven who had a hole in his sock…. not me.

I did however have holes in my jeans, but if asked these were ‘fashionable holes’ which I paid a lot extra for…
